2009-2010 YOUTH PROGRAMS

Fiddler on the Roof Jr. – Ages 12 -18              Tuition: $200

Performances: Oct. 8-11, 2009

In the little village of Anatevka, Tevye, a poor dairyman, tries to instill in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, "Fiddler On The Roof" has touched audiences around the world with its humor, warmth and honesty. It's universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness.
 


 

Jack and the Beanstalk – Ages 5-9                    Tuition: $100

Rehearsals: Tues. & Thurs. / Oct. 20-Nov.19, 2009 / 4-5:30pm

Performances: Nov. 21, 2009  2pm / Nov. 22, 2009  7pm

Come and enjoy this musical version of the familiar story of Jack, a beanstalk, a nasty Giant, and a very special goose performed by our youngest actors, age 5-9.

Mollie & the Last Bookworm – Ages 10-13               Tuition: $150

Rehearsals: Mon. & Wed. / Oct. 19-Nov.18, 2009 / 4-5:30pm

Performances: Nov. 21, 2009  2pm / Nov. 22, 2009  7pm

Mollie hates to read. In anger one day, she tosses a stack of books into the air and pages fly out everywhere. Suddenly, a pudgy bookworm enters in a frantic fit, followed by a pack of characters from all the books Mollie threw. He tells her that they only have one hour to get all the stories back in order or the characters will be taken away forever by the evil Plagaria, ruler of the wasteland of Publicdomania. What follows is a madcap race through sections of ALICE IN WONDERLAND, TOM SAWYER, OLIVER TWIST, WIZARD OF OZ, and HANSEL AND GRETEL. Pure musical magic for all. 
 


 

Godspell Jr. – Ages 12-18                        Tuition: $200

Performances: February 18-21, 2010

Based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew, and featuring a sparkling score by Stephen Schwartz, "Godspell" boasts a string of well-loved songs, led by the international hit, "Day By Day." As the cast performs "Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "All For The Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side," the parables of Jesus Christ come humanly and hearteningly to life.


Rats! The Story of the Pied Piper – Ages 5-9                    Tuition: $100

Rehearsals: Tues. & Thurs. / Feb. 23-Mar. 25, 2010 / 4-5:30pm

Performances: Mar. 27, 2010  2pm / Mar. 28, 2010  7pm

Rats!  The town of Hamelin is overrun with them and the citizens are in a tizzy- until the mysterious Pied Piper arrives, offering to solve their dilemma for a small fee. Clever songs and characters tell the tale of the town that learned a lesson when they refused to pay as agreed for services rendered.


Honk! Jr. – 10-13             Tuition: $150

Rehearsals: Beginning week of April 26th, generally 2-3 days/wk. 5-7pm, more days as we get closer to  the performances

Performances: June 4-6, 2010

"Honk! Jr." is the story of Ugly, whose odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry Cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along his rollicking and harrowing journey he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny, but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms.
